Course Overview
The original design of the Sunland golf course was completed by one of the most prolific and revered golf course architects of the Pacific Northwest, Arthur Vernon Macan. In fact, Sunland golf course was A.V. Macans’ final design before his passing in 1964. Unfortunately, he did not get to see his vision become reality due to a heart attack that occurred while on Sunland property. The routing of the front nine was completed according to Macans’ design, however the routing of the back nine was revised. A.V. Macan was inducted into the Pacific Northwest Golf Hall of Fame in 1989. Some say his spirit still wanders the fairways of his final design.
